C Brandauer & Co Ltd was founded in 1862 and today is a sixth-generation family business of international standing.
The company began as a manufacturer of pen nibs, achieving a reputation for excellence with a series of royal warrants, special commissions and high-volume global sales.
As Brandauer developed through the twentieth century, we never stopped adding new technologies and new skills in line with changing customer requirements.
As traditional pen nibs grew obsolete through the 50s and 60s, the company gradually switched to precision pressings for the supply of components for the growing electrical and telecoms industries. As markets, customer demand and global supply chain relationships continued to change, we developed an increasing specialism in the manufacture of complex metal components, particularly where extreme precision is required in challenging materials.
Today the company has evolved into a world-class engineering company with long experience across many different industries, including electronics, telecom, IT, computer, medical and automotive.
Much has changed over a century of metal presswork – today’s high-speed presses, our market-leading optical inspection equipment, our CAD/CAM technology and the precision products themselves are all a long-way from the pen nib manufacturing which first made the name of Brandauer famous around the world.
But the principles which underpin the business today are the same principles on which the business was founded nearly 150 years ago -
