Established in 1772 by Thomas Fox, the company has thrived in the beautiful rural surroundings of Somerset in the West of England for nearly 250 years. The company is based on the outskirts of the historic town of Wellington, home of the Wellington Monument, built in honour of Arthur Wellesley, the famous Duke of Wellington. Wellington stands between the River Tone and the spectacular Blackdown Hills, just an hour from Bath. This wonderful environment provides the perfect base for producing luxury cloth, a fact that is clearly reflected in the exceptional quality of the Fox Brothers' product.
Apprenticeships
Knowledge, craftsmanship and heritage are at the heart of the fabric making process at Fox Brothers, many of our workforce having followed their fathers and grandfathers into the business. We intend to continue to produce the world's finest woollen cloth, for discerning clients, from our Somerset base for many years to come. To this end we are introducing an apprenticeship scheme to ensure that the traditional skills required in the making of fine woollen fabrics, are passed down to the next generation.
