Only "Crocodile" brand machets are made from tapered steel section with grooves which makes our product distinctly better than our competitors.
Harvesting Oil Palm KernelsQuality is assured because we control every stage of production from steel billet to finished machet.
Every blade is individually tested to ensure the hardened and tempered steel characteristics conform to our strict quality controls.
We guarantee 100% inspection.
All our handles are made from German beech wood. We monitor the moisture content of the timber to make sure the product is consistent and does not split under normal circumstances.
The timber is cross-sawn for maximum strength and stability. The handle is fitted to the blade with solid steel rivets and washers. Nursey of Bungay - Leather and Sheepskin products

There’s been a Nursey of Bungay in Upper Olland Street since 1790. And there’s been a Nursey heading up the firm every year since.
Not every change is a change for the better.
Some things, we’ve discovered, are best left done the way they’ve always been done.
The story of Nursey is one covering 200 years of tradition, experience and uncompromising craftsmanship. Back in 1790, Samuel Nursey opened for business declaring that, first and foremost, he would work with only the finest lambskins. It’s a principle that successive generations of Nurseys saw no reason to divert from, and one which Tim Nursey, the current Managing Director, adheres to to this day.
Of course, 200 years ago, best quality skins could be found within a few miles of Bungay. Now, we have to go further afield. (Toscana skins, for instance, which are selected for their unique softness and the stylish way they drape, come from Spain and Portugal, but we have been known to extend our searches as far afield as Iceland and Australia.)
Once the skins have arrived at our factory, they’re examined the way they always have been. Meticulously. So that they can then be sorted with absolute accuracy, according to colour, texture and weight.
Rather than machine cut them, which is quicker and cheaper, we then hand cut them. Yes, it’s slower. Yes, it’s more expensive. And yes, it results in a better crafted product.
Just as unusually, and just as true to our time-honoured practices, one sewing machinist is responsible for sewing the whole garment. (In most clothing factories today, a machinist only sews part of the garment.)
Finally, choosing the painstaking, time-consuming, and traditional over the modern and cost-effective isn’t down to any nostalgia kick or backward-looking cussedness. We continue this way for one reason and one reason only. When your name’s been a by-word for quality for six generations, you tend to be very picky about the clothes wearing your label.

British Ceramic Tiles

British Ceramic Tile is an ultra-modern and energy efficient manufacturer of ceramic tiles based in Devon. We continue a long and proud tradition of potters and tile makers who over the years have been inspired by our breathtaking location on the edge of Dartmoor.

Today, most of the ceramic tiles sold in Britain are imported. We aim to change this by producing better quality, better value ceramic tiles that are specifically designed to fulfill the tiling needs of the UK market. British Ceramic Tile has invested over £40 million in production equipment to enable us to create high quality and beautifully designed tiles efficiently and at competitive prices.

Our manufacturing process already uses 20% less energy to produce tiles than the average for our industry. We are constantly striving to improve our efficiency through the innovative use of new materials and taking steps to make our processes even more efficient.  The raw materials that make up ceramic tiles are heavy and the financial and environmental expenses associated with moving them around are high. As we manufacture here in the UK, adjacent to our raw materials, this has enabled us to significantly reduce our energy use in transportation and allows us to offer better value for money to our customers than most of our competitors.

Savoir - Luxury Beds

Savoir Beds go back to 1905 when the No 2 bed became known as ‘The Savoy’. The company was bought by the Savoy Hotel in the 1930’s and remained within the group until 1997 when it regained its independence.
Of course, our beds are still found in some of the world's premier hotels. Our heritage brings two distinct advantages.

Firstly, we have a wealth of experience to draw on which is still being passed on to a new generation of apprentice. Secondly, our long association with the world’s top hotels means that we are unique among bed makers. We service our hotel mattresses and divans, often over a 30 year life span. We have therefore, had the opportunity to fine tune our beds in an extremely demanding environment. We believe the resulting beds are unmatched.

We take great pride in the fact that we still manufacture here in the UK at our west London factory. The Savoir factory is based in Park Royal – adjacent to Willesden Junction station.

Prestat - Luxury chocolatiers

Our roots begin in 1902 in London by Chocolatier extraordinaire Antoine Dufour, following his family's creation of the chocolate truffle in Chambery, France, in 1895. Antoine saw an opportunity to bring his skills to London, where chocolate cafes and shops known as Refreshment Rooms were growing in popularity. With Antoine’s flair for creativity and perfection, Prestat became an instant success.

What enables us to be creative is that unlike many chocolatiers – focusing purely on profit - Prestat has managed to withhold the growing trend of the readymade product. At Prestat we ensure all our chocolates are hand-crafted and filled and gift wrapped under the same roof, and more importantly under the same watchful gaze of our qualified and talented chocolatiers.

In such an incredible environment as a chocolate factory, new thoughts and creations flourish. In 2006 we launched the ‘Prestat Babes’ – tantalising fruit jellies covered in dark, milk and white chocolate. This year we launched a range of Single Origin Chocolate Buttons from Ecuador, Sao Thome and Madagascar. And in a major new development, we are also launching an extraordinary range of chocolate bars named Choxi+ which enjoys two to three times the level of antioxidants – chocolate’s main health-giving property.

We love chocolateBy being so close to the chocolate in our factory in Park Royal, and in amongst the smells and fillings, our creative spirits are always alive and attentive. Not only can we guarantee the quality of our chocolates and truffles, we also guarantee that you will get a chocolaty experience quite unlike any other.

Hybrid air vehicles - Airships

Hybrid Air Vehicles is one of the world's leading exponents of 'Lighter-Than-Air' (LTA) technology, with the world's most experienced team specialising in designing, building and certifying LTA systems.

The growing world demand for raw materials and the increasing threat of global terrorism is driving the need for novel solutions to the requirements for heavy lift transportation and surveillance / communications with the minimum environmental impact. Hybrid Air Vehicles' products directly address all of these requirements in a cost effective manner.  The SkyCat series' advantages allow the creation of a transport system that can interface with existing transport modes. Operational capabilities result in almost zero impact on the environment by avoiding the need to construct runways or roads.

Core team members have been involved in LTA development for more than 35 years and these projects have seen development and operational spending in excess of half a billion dollars. The US Navy airship program in the period 1987-95 provided core team members with the opportunity to develop and test totally new systems, and subsequent developments have advanced the technology significantly.

Since the launch of the original BN2 Piston Islander in 1965, we have prided ourselves in building the most rugged and reliable Short Take Off & Landing (STOL) aircraft on the market. For the majority of our customers the Islander still provides the only viable solution for short sector and rough field operations.

Jensen Cars - Sports Car Remanufacturer

The Jensen Interceptor was the dream car of the 60s and 70s, its sleek, iconic looks put it in a different league to any other car on the road. Super-cool, Italian design and powerful American V8 engines along with unbridled luxury made the Jensen Interceptor symbolic of the hedonistic, unlimited optimism of a generation.

Jensen effectively ceased production in 1976 but the name and image remains. We received so many requests for a ‘modern Interceptor’ that could bridge the 35 year gap that we began to think what it might look like.

The ‘new’ Interceptor must retain its iconic image and heritage. It must be a powerful, luxurious Grand Tourer capable of handling today’s traffic and road conditions. It must be a ‘driver’s car’ and needs to be reliable as well as stylish.

The Jensen Interceptor S is the result and we are delighted.

Stockley's Sweets

As the first world war ended, Malcolm Stockley returned to his native Accrington to recommence the craft he had pursued as a younger man - the art of toffee making.

It was from these humble beginnings in a shed in High Street, Rileys Hill that the name of Stockley's first became recognised as quality sweet manufacturers...that quality tradition continues today.

The name of Stockley's was first seen in many different places, from Market stalls in Lancashire to retail stands at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and from England to America, where Stockley's proudly exhibited their goods at the World Exhibition in San Francisco in 1939.

The name Stockley's is synonymous with such wonderful names as Winter Nips, Herbal Candy, Cinder Toffee, Bronchial Lozenges, Sarsaparilla Sticks, Pear Drops, Barley Sugar, Caramels and their world famous Coltsfoot Rock.

About Us

Mackintosh Rainwear

Although the Mackintosh style of coat has become generic, a genuine Mackintosh coat should be made from rubberised or rubber laminated material.

Charles Macintosh patented his invention for waterproof cloth in 1823 and the first Mackintosh coats were made in the family's textile factory, Charles Macintosh and Co. of Glasgow. But in 1830 the company merged with the clothing company of Thomas Hancock in Manchester. Hancock had also been experimenting with rubber coated fabrics since 1819.

With just one factory in Cumbernauld, Mackintosh is determined to keep production based in the UK. "Although the industry is very small in this country, it's still possible to produce garments here," Bott says. "The ethical concerns are an important part of our decision: we don't want to work with any factories anywhere else."

S.E.H Kelly - garments from the mills of the British Isles

S.E.H Kelly makes garments with the mills of the British Isles. From fabrics to components and through each stage of manufacturing, every aspect of every garment is made — spun, woven, cut, stitched, sewn and finished by hand — with the British textile and clothing industry.
Having worked for a good number of years on Savile Row, alongside many of the most esteemed exponents of domestic industry, the route seems a sensible one. Provenance of materials runs the length and breadth of the Isles, from regional mills and co-operatives, and each garment is put together by a handful of top-notch factories and workshops, with the rigour and steadfast commitment to quality acquired on the Row.
Responsible, lasting relationships with first-rate domestic suppliers is the long-term commitment here, and with it comes the ambition to make garments alongside steadily more mills and factories, from right across the Isles, in the months and years ahead.

Bettys & Taylors - Cakes, Chocolates and tea & coffee

 Where Switzerland Meets Yorkshire

After losing his parents at an early age, Frederick Belmont spent his teens in apprenticeships for all manner of bakers and confectioners across Europe. By the time he arrived in England his head was filled with knowledge of their craft – and dreams of his future.
In London, Frederick discovered he had lost the address he was travelling to. All he could remember was that the town sounded like ‘Bratwurst’. Through sheer luck he found himself on a train to Bradford.
Fortunately the beautiful countryside and sweet clear air reminded him of his native Switzerland – so much so, that he decided to stay. In 1919 he opened his first Bettys Café Tea Rooms in the fashionable spa town of Harrogate. The combination of mouth-watering Swiss confectionery and Yorkshire warmth and hospitality in such an elegant setting proved irresistible. Bettys was an instant success and was soon able to boast of ‘Royal and Distinguished Patronage’ on its letterhead.
In the 1920s Frederick opened a Craft Bakery in Harrogate, complete with its own orchard. Thanks to the new Bakery, Frederick was able to open Bettys branches in other Yorkshire towns including a flagship café in York, inspired by the magnificent Queen Mary Cruise liner. His York tea room became particularly popular during the war years when the basement ‘Bettys Bar’ became the favourite destination of the hundreds of American and Canadian ‘Bomber Boys’ stationed around York. ‘Bettys Mirror’, on which many of them engraved their signatures with a diamond pen, remains on display at the branch today.
In the 1960s Bettys joined forces with another Yorkshire business, family tea and coffee merchants, Taylors of Harrogate.

Pooley Swords

In August 2005, the very distinguished sword makers Wilkinson Sword, who had been established for over two hundred years, ceased trading as sword makers.  Robert Pooley, who had been commissioning swords from Wilkinsons for over forty years, purchased from Wilkinsons their drawings, product records, spares and much of their tooling, including both heavy and light machinery.  A Ryder Mechanical Hammer, which was made at the end of the 1800’s, was also amongst the machinery purchased.
Pooley Sword was formed in November 2005 and the heavy machinery was despatched to India for the forging of blades.  India was, for hundreds of years, renowned throughout the world as the finest of sword makers.  Indeed, Wellington’s famous, “Mameluke Sword” was made in India and to this day this type of sword is a regulation pattern for all General Officers.
All Pooley Swords are forged from carbon steel and tested to the highest standards in the traditional way as laid down by Henry Wilkinson.  The finished sword is finally etched and finished in England to the same fine standards expected by the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces.  Pooley Sword is now established as the leading supplier of swords to the British Armed Forces and the MOD as well as many Commonwealth and Overseas Defence Forces.

Triggerfish Funky Slippers

Uber cool indoor shoes, classic and contemporary design

The mens slippers market has never quite mastered the cool factor pined for by the new age man... that is until now.
Triggerfish is a new range of loungewear for men who like to keep their cool wherever they are.

Mancunian rocker Liam Gallagher is already a fan of the brand having order a bespoke pair from Middleton and in turn providing a great style icon that will surely boost the reputation of the label which launches this September at Top Drawer.

Triggerfish are also pioneering to help save the British High Street and not least of all with their alignment with British production, as the shoes are made in one of the last British factories in Leicstershire. Middleton is a supporter of the independent store too and is resigned to the fact that her new funky slippers will not fall into the hands of just any old multiple:

Brisbane Moss - Fine fabrics

Since the middle of the 19th century, Moss Brothers had been weavers and converters of corduroy and moleskin fabric. About the turn of the century The English Velvet Cord Dyeing Company moved into the district and took over some of the local dyeing firms. Fearing the prospect of a monopoly in the dyeing trade, which could be to their disadvantage, several clothing companies got together along with the largest dyers in the district, Moss Bros.Ltd. with their extensive dye works at Bridgeroyd. Together they formed The English Fustian Manufacturing Company Ltd. on 13th February 1901.
Over the next few decades the EFMC continued to expand and eventually became a vertical operation incorporating Spinning, Weaving, Dyeing, Clothing Manufacture and also Retail outlets. In the early 1980’s due to changes in the demand for Corduroy Moleskin and Fustians and along with the competition from other countries the English Fustian Co were forced into administration with many of the divisions closing down. It was at this time that M Chapmans & Sons who also specialized in Pile Fabrics became associated with Brisbane Moss and Moss Brothers Dyers, and became the current owners in 1983.
The relationship has proved to be very successful and culminated in winning the Queens Award for Export in 2004 which was presented to our Managing Director Mr Ian Darrah by Prince Andrew in an ceremony at our premises in Todmorden and a further presentation with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in Buckingham Palace. This award shows the importance of quality and traditional fabrics around the world and the enviable reputation that Brisbane Moss has built up over the years.

Roger W. Smith - Watchmakers

Today watchmaking is closely identified in our consciousness with Switzerland, yet English horology was once considered the highpoint of the art for hundreds of years, at a time when Swiss watch making was centuries away from achieving its currently held status. This golden period of English watchmaking was spanned by makers such as Tompion, Harrison, Mudge, Graham, Earnshaw and Arnold. English clocks and pocket watches were prized creations available only to the powerful and wealthy.
The recipient of the longitude prize, John Harrison, shrunk his ship's chronometers in format from extremely large table clocks to a small portable timekeeper within a span of just 40 years, thus paving the way for the diminution of mechanical and accurate timekeeping that would eventually lead to the wristwatch chronometer of today.
This highpoint of English horological creation and invention forms the very basis of the Roger W. Smith workshop's philosophy towards watchmaking. Many design features, including movement layout and structural details, visual proportions and numerous visual details, are directly stimulated by the masterpieces from this period. This inspiration forms the essence from which the workshop reinterprets the past, combining them with modern horological developments such as the Daniels co-axial escapement in order to create exclusive and distinctly English wristwatches for the connoisseurs of today.
