ASD’s range of high quality, hard wearing and practical Office & Commercial, Utility and Exterior luminaires are designed and manufactured to meet the exacting demands of facility managers, specifiers, contractors, designers & architects and end users. Using the latest manufacturing techniques we have a range that meets the demands of domestic and commercial installations, offering a comprehensive range of energy saving lampand operating options to meet the latest building regulations requirements.

ASD Lighting have been manufacturing in the UK from our 60,000-sq ft factory in Rotherham for over 24 years. Our continued success has lead us in the last year to spend £3 million acquiring the factories adjacent to our existing premises, giving the company an extra 45,000 square feet of capacity; 25,000 of which is used for manufacturing while the remaining space is used for warehousing. The investment has been used to update the new and existing factories enabling us to provide fast deliveries throughout Britain and Worldwide.
The benefit of the new factory is we have more space where we can create more efficiency by better control and planned production. Last year and this year our investment will total around £5 million.
This is a serious investment; it’s not only to take on board what we’ve seen in the last five years in growth and expansion, but to accommodate the next five years where we will continue to see the business grow.

Lumax Lighting

Italian Inspired Handmade in the UK
Lumax is a family orientated business set up in 1991 by brothers Dale & Paul Marsh and now includes a second generation With Robert working in our assembly workshop. Our youngest staff member Margaret has now been with Lumax for over 8 years, a fact that we all take pride in is that all of our workforce has been fully trained and have a combined experience approaching 70 years in the lighting industry.

Our company policy can be summed up in the following statement Lumax Management and Staff are absolutely and totally dedicated to your complete satisfaction.

Over many years the Management of Lumax have taken their inspiration from the hundreds of traditional Brass foundries in the North of Italy, whose methods of casting have been mastered and handed down through generations of Families.

Our designs evolve from the 10’s of thousands of Raw Brass cast parts, which are then assembled to create what has been in the past unique designs.

We have seen over the last 15 years in particular a number of Companies that have copied our designs with some degree of success in the short term, but we believe that it our unrivalled dedication to our industry and the commitment to our customers that has kept us as leaders in our field. Our designers are continuously working to enhance our existing product range with new ideas whilst maintaining our exceptionally high standards of manufacture.
All of our products are patinated to product authentic antique finish.

Original BTC England

Established in 1990, Original BTC manufactures relaxed, familiar lighting for traditional and contemporary homes. Hand-assembled in Oxford from the finest aluminium, chrome and bone china, the essential collection of table, floor, wall and pendant lights is instantly comfortable, unassumingly elegant and accessibly priced.

One of the forerunners of industrial style, founder Peter Bowles’ updated classics and original designs are inspired by traditional factory fittings, childhood toys and iconic 1940s design. Three UK production facilities are dedicated to constructing the beautifully unprocessed lights: aluminium shades and bases are hand-spun from sheet metal in the heart of the country’s metal-working industry and sent to Oxford for assembly, while bone china shades are hand-cast in Stoke-on-Trent.

Quality, detail and mix of materials is key: metallic painted, glass or china shades are paired with polished, satin or chromed bases, offset by matching cotton braided flex. Functional and practical, stems can be raised and lowered and shades angled to create the perfect ambience.

With their neat styling and instantly classic feel, Original BTC lights can be spotted in the chicest of interiors, from Paris’ latest concept store, Merci, to Carrie Bradshaw’s New York apartment via Gordon Ramsay’s Maze and the new Daylesford Organic CafĂ© in Westbourne Grove.
While inspiration is drawn from all quarters - an antique lamp used to keep chicks warm or the searchlight on the back of a toy lorry - authenticity and attention to detail remain at the heart of the collection. When a visit to the Stoke-on-Trent shade manufacturer revealed the factory was under threat of closure, Bowles promptly took on the business, including all staff. Later, unsatisfied with the finish of commonly-used plastic lighting flex, he replaced it with woven cotton braid snipped off the family iron, soon becoming one of Original BTC’s best-loved design features.

Today, over 70% of Original BTC’s lights are exported worldwide, with their simple elegance recognised internationally by design luminaries including Andree Putman, John Pawson and Terence Conran.

We specialise in Church Lighting, Theatre Lighting, Pub and Restaurant Lighting and Public Building Lighting also creating Bespoke Lighting to meet your exact requirements. Our design team continues to innovate and create new contemporary lighting that can be a central feature to any room whether traditional or modern.

We make lighting, to order, here in Great Britain (UK). It is this absolute commitment to manufacturing that really sets us apart from the competition and means we can offer a range of unique and high quality services to clients worldwide.

Whether it’s a completely new design or the renovation of existing fixtures, one piece or a whole scheme, by working directly with a genuine manufacturer the end product will be exactly as you want it.

Based in Fleetwood, Lancashire, (in the North West UK), the business was built around the provision and maintenance of the town's famous trawler fleet. The company quickly established a reputation among the wider fishing community for its range of oil burning navigation lamps, designed and built to withstand the harshest of elements during long trips to inhospitable waters.

The Present

Today, only a few steps from the original workshops on the dockside, a purpose-built factory is the modern setting for our company's unique blend of experience, traditional craft skills and 21st century technology. As part of a family owned group of companies, we have retained our character and independence and created a strong, commercial base from which to serve our ever-widening client base.

Our commitment to manufacturing ensures that almost all of our traditional designs from the last century are still available today by retaining these rare skills we have been able to play our part not only in sensitively restoring many of our country's landmark buildings to their former glory but also in creating exciting new environments such as theme parks, entertainment and hospitality venues.
