PlayPlax Toys - Educational and Entertaining

About PlayPlax

Invented by Patrick Rylands in 1966, PlayPlax went on to sell over a million copies.

Patrick was an art student when he first came up with the concept of these brilliant interlocking squares. When we decided to bring it back we knew one thing - it had to be as good as the original.
We found and used the factory in Cheshire who used to make it. They still had the dye recipes which meant we could perfectly reproduce the beautiful colours. Although they look like perspex, the pieces are actually made of polystyrene.

Dice Maestro games

Family business values

Our vision at Dice Maestro is to create board games with a difference and have business values that make a difference. Here are seven reasons to buy a Dice Maestro game:
  • Play Anywhere. Our games are played in the box, which is the size of a typical hardback novel, and can be played virtually anywhere: at home, at school, on holiday, on the road. No need for a table.
  • Play Anytime. Our games typically last 30 minutes or so - ideal for busy lifestyles.
  • Fun For All. Our games are simple enough for children to play but sophisticated enough for adults to enjoy. Virtually everyone enjoys throwing dice but the finely tuned game mechanisms provide subtlety and scope for tactical play.
  • Few Rules. There is no lengthy rule book to wade through to learn the rules of the standard game. However, more experienced gamers should visit the resources section for each game to download rule variations, rules for different game versions, strategy tips and probability tables.
  • Made in the UK. We do not outsource any manufacturing to countries with poor environmental or health and safety records. Everything is made in the United Kingdom.

Michael Frost Toymaker

Michael and Celia Frost have been building ride on toys and pull along toys since their first son Richard, was born 47 years ago. They have 5 children and when Christmas came the children were given a wooden toy, try as they might to destroy them they are still in existence today, and now each of the 9 grandchildren has one of Grandad's toys too. Richard went on to found the playhouse company, designing and manufacturing bespoke playhouses for children, he got his love of working with wood from his parents and is now delighted that he can help through this web site to sell the wooden toys he and his brothers and sister enjoyed so much through out their childhood.

All our toys are crafted in our workshops in Cumbria, all made and painted by hand; giving personal touch to each and every one.

Orchard Toys

http://www.orchardtoys.com

Orchard Toys is a leading manufacturer of educational puzzles and games for children aged between 18 months and 12 years, with a reputation for excellence of design, manufacture and service.

We have been designing and manufacturing award-winning educational games, jigsaw puzzles and activities since 1971 when the company was founded by Keith Harvey, who remains a director today. In 2004, the company was bought by Hugh Beevor who had been involved for 10 years in his capacity as Export Sales Director. Hugh now fills the role of Chairman. Originally producing in Nottingham, we relocated to a new purpose-built factory and office complex in Wymondham, Norfolk early in 2006.

All the board used for games, puzzles and product packaging is 100% recycled. The paper used for printed covers is sourced from sustainable forests and coated with a water-based varnish and all are manufactured in the UK.

The manufacture of components is subcontracted to a UK supplier base, some of whom have supplied the company throughout our period of trading. Maintaining strong and close working relationships with the supplier base is a key focus in maintaining a growing reputation for producing a premium quality product.
Assembly, warehousing, order picking and despatch are carried out from our Norfolk base, from where all the cardboard and paper waste products are recycled by a local business.
