This blog highlights the many amazing UK businesses that are making fabulously interesting high quality, and unique products that are poorly represented on the high street. From large to small, some recent, some with roots back into the industrial revolution, many have a passion, integrity and history that the mass produced corporate brands have lost.
This is just a small cross section of the many businesses which have turned UK manufacturing to a competitive advantage and are producing desirable products that need highlighting much more widely if we are to rebalance our economy. Global trade is of course important, but there has to be consideration to the balance of payments between countries.

As well as including those companies that are world leading manufacturers making industrial products many smaller companies are represented that are producing products not readily available in the high street that can be purchased directly.
These companies’ products can have lower product miles, conform to UK legal and environmental standards, strengthen communities by employing people locally in this country and generate wealth for the UK economy.
Our cumulative spending decisions all have an influence on their success.
