Naylor Group (Yorkshire Flowerpots)

The history of the Naylor Group dates back to 1890, when the great-grandfather of current Chief Executive Edward Naylor, a civil engineer, built a railway viaduct in the West Yorkshire village of Denby Dale.
The discovery of a rich seam of clay led to the foundation of a clay brick and pipe factory, which has evolved into a modern-day group of businesses with a turnover of £30m, 250 people, factories in South and West Yorkshire, Fife and the West Midlands and a strong reputation in the market for quality and service.
The last decade has seen the company change dramatically. A huge capital investment programme- £18m has been invested over the last 10 years- has enabled Naylor both to diversify as well as to improve the productivity of its existing business.
